Christian Spiritual Warfare

What is Spiritual Mindset?

Spiritual mindset is a thought process or mental attitude that transcends the physical and focus on the higher source of power, the creator and life-source for all living things- plants, animals, and people.

How to set your mind on the spirit.

If you set your mind on the scriptures like these, you will in turn, be setting your mind on the spirit. The Bible often presents two options- life and death.

  • In Romans 8:5–6, Paul describes two different lives-two different mindsets.
  • In Colossians 3:1-4 the apostle Paul instructs the believers "to seek the things that are above where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God; to set their minds on things above, not on earthly things."

Study and meditate on Ephesians 6:10-18

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.

12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,

15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.

16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

What led me to write about developing a mindset for spiritual warfare.

It started as a journaling process. I was trying to pin point what I'd done in the past that had led to success.

I'd successfully overcome depression, financial hardship, foreclosure threat, loss of income, parenting issues and the like in my past.

I wanted to see it on paper- What was spiritual warfare for me and How did I do it?

Now, it's not the same all the time, but after reviewing my notes, I saw a pattern:

My Spiritual Warfare Steps looked something like:

  1. Pray about the issue
  2. Read scripture
  3. Pray for revelation
  4. Receive the solution by faith
  5. Surround myself with wise counsel
  6. Meditate in the word daily
  7. Express gratitude daily
  8. Keep a journal daily

When I realized that this might be useful to others, I decided to format it a bit.

First, I sat with pen and paper and jotted down all of the things that I do when faced with a spiritual battle.

Then, I created a list that became my outline for the content.

It wasn't until I completed it that I realized, this is actually is a spiritual warfare book.

Why do we need to renew our minds?

We must renew our minds because our current mind is problem-focused as opposed to your renewed mind (of Christ) which is always solution focused.

All you need are the missing pieces of the puzzle and you will have the tools to complete the breakthrough transformation you so passionately have asked God for.

Spiritual Warfare Mindset is a biblical principle. Romans 12:2 says, "Be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind."

The transformation that you desire in your life can only take place when you change how you think about it and from that place of renewed thinking-take faith driven action.

This mindset book will transform you from the inside out. You can makeover your life by renewing your Spiritual growth mindset.

In fact, renewing your mind is the key to your success now and forever. A faithful fixed mindset is the Substance of Your transformation and ultimately your victory.

Establish a fixed mindset built on the foundation of the Gospel of Christ. Renewing your mind will give you access to spiritual steps to take in order to overcome your toughest obstacles and life struggles.

Remember, the book above is about Christian spiritual warfare (this link goes to the Amazon book). Of course, given it's genre, it is heavily reliant on bible scripture and the warfare principles are biblical. I say that to say, some people may see that as too religious, so in that case, it may not be a good book to try.

There are plenty of spiritual but not religious books out there that can assist with spiritual warfare type principles.

What are the benefits of renewing your mind as a spiritual warfare practice?

Once you renew your mind you will overcome:

  • fear and worry and have more faith and self confidence
  • A lack mentality and develop a Spiritual growth mentality
  • fear of what to say when you pray Spiritual Warfare Prayers

You will instead develop and master:

  • A Mindset for Learning Biblical Principles
  • Daily action strategies and ways to renew your mind
  • How to create your own faith mindset checklist and to use it to transform your thought processes in the time of crisis

Most importantly you will manifest the promise: "no weapon formed shall prosper against you." (Isaiah 54:17)

Faith in Jesus Christ and the power of prayer are foundations for spiritual success and living a victorious life.

Spiritual warfare tools are scripture verses on faith, prayer, meditating on the word by reading your bible and actively living by faith.

The key to living in this promise is walking by faith and developing a strong spiritual growth mindset.

“Be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.” (Romans 12:2) The battle begin in the mind and this e-book will help transform you from the inside out.

To develop a faith mindset, you first have to tune up your spiritual belief system.

Let's talk about our BS (Belief System). We are where you are because of our B.S. –our belief system.*This section was adapted from the intro of the ebook.

Basically, the systematic thoughts you've had over a long period of time have contributed to where you are today and how you make decisions as a whole.

Your BS is the reason you choose certain friends; your mate; your career; etc. All decisions can be traced back to your BS.

A faith mind-set is as a state of mind that knows all things are possible through Christ Jesus.

This sounds good, but let’s talk more about the characteristics of a faithful mind so that we have a clearer picture. A faith mind-set is:

  • unmovable and stands firm on the Word.1 Corinthians 15:58, "Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain."Colossians 3:2, set your mind on things above and keep it set!
  • Believes in the unseen. Hebrews 11:1, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
  • Sober. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: (1 Peter 5:8)sound.
  • Sound. Second Timothy 1:7 says, "For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind!".
  • Knows God-inspired labor is never in vain. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, for ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. (1 Corinthians 15:58)

We have to replace negative BS with a faith-mindset. To do that you must continually saturate your heart and mind with the Word. Surround yourself with faith-minded people.

Ufriend negative drama kings and queens. You operate from a faith mindset on purpose until it become automatic. You decide from this day forward, No more negative BS.

What does the bible say about spiritual warfare?

I motivate myself by reciting these scripture memory verses anytime I feel oppression or stressed:

  1. Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

  2. Isaiah 54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn.

  3. James 4:7 7Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

  4. Luke 1:37  For the word of God will never fail.

  5. 1 Peter 5:8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

  6. Romans 8:37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,

And my personal favorite scripture for spiritual warfare:

Matthew 18:18 Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be  loosed in heaven. 19 Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.
