Self doubt is our first enemy. We all tend to underestimate ourselves, in most things. Now, overestimating our abilities would be unrealistic and outright foolish in many cases. What we need is a belief that we are capable.

Unless we think ourselves to be capable, indulging in positive self talk and just telling ourselves that we are capable will not do the trick. We need to really think that we are capable and should be doing everything that we can to develop that thought process.
Positive thinking itself stems from our own abilities, past and our present.

The fear of the future also affects our thinking. Since future isn’t under our control or that of anyone, we should rather focus on the past and present and more importantly on who we are. Many people recommend forgetting the past. Well, that is not possible.

Unless someone has memory issues, letting go off the past or forgetting troubling memories is not that easy. Instead of trying to do that, you can develop positive thinking by believing that you are enough to handle a certain situation or to overcome a particular problem.
